Can you give us a quick overview about the IHG Hotels programme and which brands are parts of the IHG group?

"IHG is an international hotel company which welcomes over 180 million guests each year to over 620,000 rooms in more than 4,200 hotels across nearly 100 countries. The group incorporates seven hotel brands including InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Holiday Inn Club Vacations, Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites.

"The IHG affiliate programme, PartnerConnect, boasts competitive commission levels and a 30 day referral period. The product catalogue is vast with over 4,200 hotels integrated into an offer feed with hundreds of deals. The programme runs a monthly newsletter to keep publishers informed of all developments from IHG as well as having a dedicated support team to answer questions. We ensure that we offer the lowest interest rate and updated creative and text links so publishers can get the best offers out to their audience."

Your programme is available internationally, what countries is the programme available in?

"Our programme covers the following languages: EN, DE, FR, ES, IT, Chinese. But that doesn't mean that we only have affiliates in countries where they speak those languages; the programme reaches far more.

"Besides US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, we have publishers in Australia, Canada, China, Singapore, Croatia, Belgium, Japan, Israel, Slovakia, Switzerland, Netherlands, Ukraine, Turkey ... just to name a few. A full list can be seen when signed up to the programme."

The great thing is that all of these territories are available through the same programme so you only need to sign-up once!

Which Demographics of Affiliate can benefit from running your programme, and what tips can you give to aid affiliates who start using the IHG affiliate programme?

"We ensure we run an incredibly flexible programme, with such a bredth of products it’s a necessity for us, consequently all business models can join the programme – we currently work closely with cashback sites, voucher/ deal sites, lots of content sites and are looking to work with price comparison sites as soon as the API is live.

"Cashback sites can benefit from temporary commission increases in return for offering increased exposure; voucher and deal sites can use the regular offers available as well as optimising these increases in commission.

"We work a lot with content sites who can benefit from a special treatment; IHG offer commission tiers on request to content sites to help them compete with other business models."

With the complexities of hotel location searches, availability and pricing information across a large number of hotels, what technologies do you provide to affiliates that can be used on their site? (i.e - XML feeds, data feeds, top hotel booking lists etc)

"We try to keep all of our publishers as up to date as possible, the CJ team is also only a phone call, tweet or email away and are always happy to help should there be any questions. We run a newsletter for publishers to keep abreast of the latest deals from IHG which can be found on the CJ offer portal.

"As well as this there is also a static data feed available in different languages for all different hotel locations. IHG are in the final stages of adding an API to the CJ account too – the API will include information on availability of rooms and pricing as well as deals and offers and is specifically designed to help price comparison sites push IHG hotels."

Can an affiliate obtain exclusive voucher codes for their users? If so, how should they go about it?

"Unfortunately this is not a strategy we’re embarking on at the moment, the nature of the hotel business means we have a finite number of products and it’s difficult to run voucher codes. That doesn’t mean we rule it out entirely and we’re always open to suggestions so emailing any thoughts over is always read and always appreciated."

Anything else our readers should know?

"We have some really exciting developments here at IHG; firstly we have developed a mobile site with CJ tracking on it which means that publishers can promote the programme through mobile apps and earn commission on it. IHG are pioneering this technology so it’s exciting to be able to offer this to publishers.

"It’s always worth promoting the Best Price Guarantee as well, if a customer can’t find the best price for any IHG hotel on the website their first night is free! This is something we at IHG pride ourselves on and is good collateral for affiliates too. Don’t forget the IHG slogan either; seven brands, endless opportunities.
