By merging the Atma Links contextual monetisation technology with Skimlinks' own affiliate marketing platform, Skimlinks will be able to offer its publishers and partners the first real-time in-text product identification and price comparison service.
It's the first acquisition Skimlinks have made as a company, and believe it's an exciting move in this industry as the content monetisation area has been heating up over recent months. The team at Atma Links have now joined Skimlinks, and are set to roll out the combined solution to some of their publishers with a full release coming soon.
In-text solutions are often accused of being intrusive and irrelevant, but with Atma Links’ technology, Skimlinks will be able to automatically identify long-tail product names with high accuracy, and turn them into links to the best-performing retailers for those products.
Skimlinks CEO and Co-founder Alicia Navarro explained the acquisition:
“We already had a strong offering for automating product linking in content. However, Atma Links is able to offer real-time price comparison, which, when combined with our publisher network, partner relationships, and architecture, creates an offering unparalleled in the market.”
Atma Links’ directors Chris Dickson and Erik Nygren will join the Skimlinks team. Atma Links CEO Chris Dickson says:
“For the past two years we have taken pride in building a unique technology that solves a real problem in contextual monetization. We’re really excited that we will see our technology deployed across such scale, and to join a company that shares our passion for innovation.”
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
