The UK’s first global Mobile Affiliate Network launches

The UK’s first global Mobile Affiliate Network launches

Linking Mobile – a sister company of Lucidity Mobile, the independent agency formed in May 2010 – utilises a wholly-owned, bespoke platform, LinkMAX™, to serve, track and monitor mobile affiliate campaigns. The LinkMAX™ technology platform operates globally and across all mobile devices. It gives advertisers and publishers with mobile site and apps the ability to monetise their traffic while advertisers can acquire customers on a cost per acquisition (CPA) basis. Publishers sign-up to the service online and can control which campaigns to run and for how long; advertisers will have a dedicated Linking Mobile account manager to steer them through the process.

The new mobile affiliate network will tap into the burgeoning mobile advertising and m:commerce market.

  • Industry research released in November 2010, showed that 41% of retailers will have a mobile commerce enabled site or transactional app in the next 12 months. The same research identified that more than half (59%) of UK retail brands expect their mobile revenues to increase over the next 12 months, with 94% regarding it as a real opportunity for their business [Source: AIME, IAB, IMRG – B2B M-Commerce Study].
  • Further research shows that 4.2 million consumers are visiting retailers’ websites using the mobile internet [Source: GSMA and comScore, 2010].
  • AOP released figures in its annual Content/Trends Census survey in September 2010, showing that mobile internet dominates publisher thinking: 9 out of 10 publishers saw opportunities for their businesses in the next 12 months in this area. In 2010, 72% of publishers currently had mobile sites within their portfolios, and a further 25% expected to provide mobile sites in the next 12 months. AOP Organisation Census released in April 2011 showed “mobile” was a top 3 priority for growth by 68% of respondents. [Source: UK AOP].

David Fieldhouse, co-founder of Linking Mobile comments:

“We could see a growing demand for CPA deals which weren’t available in the market, so we decided to do it ourselves. The LinkMAX™ mobile technology platform we have built easily manages all serving, tracking and reporting for clients and publishers. It’s important for us to support advertisers through the process: mobile is different to a desktop PC due to different operating systems, devices, and consumer behaviour. We’ll be introducing new ad formats and also supporting platforms such as tablets shortly.”

Richard Diskin, Marketing Director at Ghost said:

“Linking Mobile is delivering solutions that have so far been missing from the mobile advertising landscape. We're very pleased to add this channel to our offering.”

David Philippson, co-founder of Linking Mobile adds:

“We are delighted to have these premium advertisers with us at launch. Mobile commerce is set to explode over the coming years and Linking Mobile will be able to connect those advertisers with their customers at a fixed price across all mobile devices. At the same time publishers can also monetise their traffic. It’s a win-win offering.”
