ive always wondered about this, but then I always use site.com/filder
for no other reason than it looks nicer in the address bar![]()
Which is better for my linking to my home page?
www.site.com
www.site.com/
www.site.com/index.php
Is the same logic applicable to other internal links? IE
www.site.com/folder
www.site.com/folder/
www.site.com/folder/index.php

It doesn't matter because they all go to the same place anyway, personally the shortest route is the best www.site.com we never use www.site.com/index.php, we have clients that start using plain html code and then require more functions so we need to change the page to php, if we used the second option we would have had to change all links to the site
Hi, I got some advice on this from an SEO expert, which doesn't entirely answer your question, but here it is anyway.
CheersSeveral leading SEOs are of the opinion that the home page should be linked as http://www.writersintouch.com and not index.php While I believe that using index.php should not cause any problems, you might consider changing this if you are using include files. That will make the change a snap.
