Batch file to open multiple websites

    Hi,

There are a lot of sites that I visit on a daily basis such as this forum and and a few affiliate blogs. I would like to be able to use a batch file (.bat) on my desktop which when clicked would open up these sites rather than having to open my favourite sites one by one.

I know how to create a batch file but don't know what command to put in, to open these sites.

    Can anyone help?

Hope I've posted in the right place.

    Thanks

    Adrian

Don't know about batch files, but if you use Firefox, you can put your daily favourites into one folder within your bookmarks and then click the button to open them all as tabs.

If you use Firefox, create a new bookmark and add this :

That will open all three sites onto new tabs from a single bookmark or you could add that line to your homepage settings.

If you want to use a batch file just have it contain: -
    Code:
    start http://www.a4uforum.co.uk/
    start http://www.google.co.uk/
    ..etc..
though I think the firefox multiple homepage way is better. (I think IE7 will also let you do that, though I've uninstalled it as the beta messed up my machine)

    Thanks guys,

This forum is just bleedin marvelous, cant get over how quick responses come back

Anyway, thats great about firefox. Will give that a go.

    Rich,

That batch file works but Internet explorer opens up with the last entry in the batch file. Have put in pause command in between each url but sites open in same window. Any idea how i could get sites to open up in new window.

    Thanks

    Adrian

Whoops, I tested it with my default browser set to firefox and assumed it would do the same in IE. Try this: -
    Code:
    start iexplore.exe -new http://www.bbc.co.uk/
    start iexplore.exe -new http://www.google.com/
    ..etc..
    That seems to work ok.

Re: Batch file to open multiple websites

Ive downloaded the software that does exactly this. From a command line open several websites without having to copy, paste VB scripts or batch files, etc Its at Multiwebpage.
