Can anyone recommend good affiliates for merchants?

    Hello everyone,

We run an online ecommerce platform selling health products. We are now looking into affiliate marketing to help promote our website. Please could people advise on good affiliate networks for merchants, or other avenues we could go down.

After much research we have been recommended the below:

    Clix galore
    Amazon market place
    Google affiliate network
    Skim Links

    Our requirements:

    - Need to keep the set up fees to a minimum until we prove this system works
    - 10-15% per sale
    - Current conversion rate 2% through organic search

I appreciate any advice anyone can give on this,

    Kind Regards,

    Rob

Amazon Marketplace and Skimlinks aren't affiliate networks per se, the latter will promote you through an affiliate programme on a network and the former is a relationship with Amazon.

Clixgalore I know nothing about but they aren't significant in the UK (are you UK based?). Google Affiliate Network are pretty good.

What do you actually sell, is it a unique product not available elsewhere?

    Hi kier,

    Thanks for your reply.

In answer to your question - yes, we are UK based and only sell our products here.

Our products aren't 100% unique, but there is very little competition for our specific product. Just a few competitors with variations of our product.

Could u recommend any other providers. We are looking to only make minimal invesents to start with, as we need to see if this strategy works first.

    Thanks,

    Rob

    Hi Rob,

Webgains and Paid On Results are both reasonably priced and with good reputations.

Be warned though, on any network you sign up to though you will need to do a lot of work yourself recruiting relevant affiliates and managing your programme, it is a big time investment to make it work compared to other channels. If your product isn't really that unique then tbh you may be better served spending your money/time elsewhere.

It's a bit of a tricky one, finding a UK focused Affiliate Marketing company that deal with small business.

We were going to try Affiliate Window but with a 5k up front fee and £300 per month plus the 10 - 15% commission on sales, you've got to really do the sums and make sure you have big enough margins on your products.

Think we'll try Paid on Results next but it would be good to have some idea of the monthly costs or startup fees before we start fielding calls from sales people all day....get enough of those already!
