using .us to target american affiliate market

I have a .us and hostgator hosting(america). Would it rank better in the usa over a com if i am using affiliate windows american affiliate market.

Doesn't make any difference.

Given the choice I would go for .com as it's more likely to be clicked on for an SERP or PPC

According to several threads in other forums I am of the opinion that TLD extensions don't affect SEO in any way. It's down to what you do with them.

I agree. Also I think the .us domain has a residency restriction to the USA

yeah thanks for the replies. i see where you are coming from with .com but just a test really on .us. time will tell i suppose.

The domain extension .us over .com has very little bearing on US SERPs. It boils down to how you SEO your site, how you promote it, and what the competition is doing.

That said, if you own the .com and the .us versions of the domain name I would stick to the .com version.

Agreed, probably better to go for uk.xxxxxx.com for the UK if you anticipate your US audience to be larger, and stick that on the .com.

I view .us in the same negative light as .info .biz, probably spammy.
