I wouldn't get too worried about this just yet, check again tomorrow, even the day after, and if it's still not there then worry...
I've never had this before so hopefully someone can shed some light.
It's an EMD with 500 words of content, indexed and ranked page 1 for two days, solid no flux at all.
This morning it was still there, now completely gone including 'site:', no errors in WMT nothing, just gone.
I'm thinking it's taken it out to add it back in, in another position (hopefully higher) but I don't no, for all I know it could be out forever.
Anyone?

2 possible reasons...
1. Google often "sandboxes" new sites to establish where they should be in their index
2. It's been know for Google to remove sites which have very few pages (1 or 2) and offer no value to the user. Although this usually happens after a month or 2
Solutions...
1. Be patient
2. Add more pages and resubmit
Disappearance of site: is slightly worrying.
If that comes back, then imo allow for the following pattern and do nothing much.
Its not people looking at your site, its a very complex algorithm and it feeds on data.
Comparative data.
So it needs time + more data over time, to figure out what to do with your site.
We've had 4 sites now follow a similar pattern:
Visitors in the first few weeks from Google.
Then, suddenly no visitors for a month or more, although site still showing as indexed.
Then, suddenly visitors appear again.
Then, visitors tail off gradually.
Then, visitors build back up and stabilise.
Whole process has varied in total length between 3 months (most recent one - I hope) and a year (the most complicate one).
We didn't change much at all over that time; for the simple reason that until its stabilised well or badly, there's no point in changing stuff.
More importantly, if the algorithm had quietly decided your site was OK and was going to feed it back in gradually and then you change a lot of it.... well what would you do if you were an algorithm ?
Also when your site disappears, so Google KNOWS its not being seen much by anybody, how would it react if you went on a big link-building campaign ? How did you get all those 'appreciative' links from people, when your site is new and isn't up ?
I've been working on a site for 4 weeks (that's forever for me), during the 4 weeks, it got loads of #1 positions, it's now disappeared (since yesterday AM), I expected that, and will wait 2 months before changing anything.
Lol, yes, there is another SEOriginally Posted by kamikaze
Seriously though, google have just rolled out some 'feature' or another in the US, so, their computing power is focused on that right now
I've left the forum to farm sheep and cattle.
Just looking at my most recent site dates and visitors, is partly what prompted me to post.
Latest site went like this:
Launch was early April.
About 30-40 visits a day for about a week.
Then 1 a day until this week.
Done 70 a day since Monday.
I'm expecting this to tail off over a month or so to a disappointing level and then come back with more stability.
We'll see.
Perhaps it'll stay where it is.
Is there a fingers crossed smiley ?
At least it's still indexed dude, mine has gone AWOL.
O and I got another site which does anywhere between 60k - 130k a month, first few months I sore lots of movement 8 months down the line and im solid.
